A lyrical piece by Florence B. Price (1887-1953), the first African American woman that was recognized as a symphonic composer and the first to have a composition performed by a major ensemble (Chicago Symphony). She was a prolific classical composer, a talented pianist and organist, and a gifted music teacher. Originally conceived for solo organ, “Adoration” (1951) was one of her last compositions.
