Dionysios Visvardis, “Macedonian Suite”.

Dionysios Visvardis (1910-1999) was a well-known member of the Greek National School. He made a long career as a clarinetist and composed various works inspired by the folk music of his homeland. The “Macedonian Suite” was written in 1949. It premiered one year later in Thessaloniki. It reflects the composer’s musical experiences and impressions from his long stay in Northern Greece.
