The basic ingredients of Dario Marianelli’s (born in 1963) recipe for the soundtrack of the film “Pride and Prejudice” were some of Beethoven’s best-known sonatas. Fun fact: Quite unusually, the Italian composer was asked to write the score before the film’s completion, as in several scenes some characters had to play the piano! The pieces are performed by French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
