“Summerland” is the second movement of the piano suite "Three Visions" by William Grant Still (1895–1978), one of the leading musical voices of the twentieth-century United States. He became the first African American composer to have an opera staged by the New York City Opera. This lyrical miniature has since been arranged for a variety of instrumental ensembles, including full orchestra.

Some desserts simply celebrate the season with colour, light and quiet elegance. This two-layer cherry and pineapple jelly, with blueberries from Karditsa, flat peaches from Skydra, and fresh mint from my garden, gently remind us that the simplest creations are often the most memorable.
