Brazilian Pomelo Marmalade

classical, eat, sweet, jazz, world, season, winter, fasting, music

Food Notes

Introducing the magnificent king of the citrus fruits: Brazilian pomelo. Quite often, its weight can exceed 2 kilos! Hellishly difficult to separate the fruit flesh, heavenly tasteful once cooked. Pomelo marmalade is your best breakfast friend but also your perfect dinner companion, if you are a cheese lover.

Grateful to my florist friends for generously sharing their rare exotic beauties with me!

Music Pairing

“Bach in Brazil”, Clavier-Übung II: No. 1, Italian Concerto in F, BWV 971: I. (Allegro).

Music Bites

A stunning release (2000) blending Latin and classical music with jazz. J.S. Bach’s baroque masterpieces (Brandenburg Concerto No 6, inventions, partitas, etc.) meet bossa nova and samba in a cd with Brazil-inspired arrangements. “Bach’s music is played as it is affectionately heard through Brazilian ears. Camerata Brasil deploys an unfamiliar assortment of instruments, but they are played with enthusiasm and impeccable virtuosity. Enjoy it for what it is” (source: gramophone.co.uk).
