Christos Kaloudis, "Dance from Corfu" (from the cd “An Anthology of Contemporary Greek Melodic Music”).

Released in 2017, the album “Greek Dances: An Anthology of Contemporary Greek Melodic Music” gathers pieces by various Greek composers and musicians, such as Christos Kaloudis, who is of Corfiot descent. Inspired by the folk tradition of his island, Kaloudis reimagined the trademark dance of his homeland (kerkyraikos balos) creating an intriguing instrumental work. His "Dance from Corfu" is performed here by the Athens Symphony Orchestra.

Kumquat jelly with fruits from my flower pot, fresh lemon juice, unrefined sugar, and Greek saffron from Kozani. I must say that my dwarf tree (the most cherished gift from my very first concert) was so generous with me this season! Strangely enough, this delicate citrus fruit from China found fertile ground in the gardens of Corfu, where it has been growing since 1846, when it was brought to the island by British botanist Sydney Merlin. Kumquat means "golden orange" in Chinese.
