Yannis Constantinidis or Costas Yannidis was a versatile and accomplished composer who was at ease with the classical repertoire and the art of songwriting. His operettas were famous, his works for orchestra and various solo instruments received positive reviews, and his songs enjoyed a wide public acceptance. He was from Smyrni (Izmir), and many of his works were inspired by the Greek traditional music.
