Internationally recognised composer, acclaimed conductor, and virtuoso violinist, Ottorino Respighi (1879-1936) was one of the most important figures on Itally’s music scene at the beginning of the 20th century; and one of the greatest travelers of his time too! “Rossiniana” (1925) is an orchestral suite named after the legendary opera master Gioachino Rossini. Respighi’s work is based on “Péchés de vieillesse” (“Sins of Old Age”), Rossini’s popular short piano pieces.
