Hummus, a heavenly spread appreciated in many places of the world…
One of the most delicious snacks for those who are fasting during Lent! A chunky dip or spread with chickpeas, tahini, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, smoked paprika, ground cumin, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Useful tip 1: you can fry some of your boiled chickpeas (roll them in flour first) and put them on top of your bowl.
Useful tip 2: please do not throw away the water in which you boiled them. You may need it to lighten the texture of your hummus. You can use it as plant food too! Chickpeas are rich in calcium, iron, proteins, and natural fibers.
